Young chefs will have an exciting and enjoyable experience exploring Japanese flavors while practicing essential kitchen skills in this interactive cooking class. Chef Andy will guide participants through fundamental culinary techniques, including proper knife handling and preparation methods, while creating a fun and delicious hands-on experience that builds confidence in the kitchen.
The class begins with a refreshing cucumber salad prepared with rice vinegar as an appetizer that cleanses the palate. Next, kids will roll up their sleeves and create vegetable sushi rolls using seaweed, properly prepared sushi rice, and fresh vegetables, including crisp cucumbers, carrots, and scallions, learning the traditional rolling technique. To finish on a sweet and satisfying note, they'll prepare green matcha crêpes with a variety of delicious toppings and fillings that showcase this traditional Japanese ingredient in a fun dessert format.
Each group must have at least one participating adult who will actively engage in the cooking experience. All attending adults must purchase a ticket. This class is best suited for children ages 5 to 15.
