Class was ok. It was less of a class- in terms of not much teaching, but rather just free time to make something out of clay. The teacher did help us aa bit.

While I think the instructor was very knowledgeable I was disappointed that on our original registration it said till 9:30 and the instructor told us we needed to finish before 9pm Expensive for the amount of time

Clear instructions given by a very helpful teacher. Taylor helped us each reach our goals despite a larger than normal class size of 20 students. Highly recommend this course!

It was fun though I think the firing cost should be included I the cost of the class.

Fun and welcoming environment with a great small class size! We got to do coil pots and/or use molds, tried out stamps & glaze - Tyler did a great job making the class feel very open & playful while guiding us in diff techniques. We ended a little early, I wouldn't have minded getting a little longer to play w/the clay and less time for glaze & kiln payment, but that is a minor point - I absolutely left wanting to go back! Even if you have truly NO experience w/clay this is such a great intro to test the waters. Thank you Tyler & Tribeca Clayworks for a great class!

It felt more like having access to a space and tools than an actual class to learn something new. We were told 3 different techniques at the beginning of the class in record speed and then everyone is on their own for the remaining time. There’s no check-in / help / tips throughout the class from the ‘teacher’. Good if you’re well adverse in the topic already and just want to practice but not useful if you actually want to learn the craft.

Really fun experience, good first intro to pottery, way more complicated than I thought. The instructor, Chelsea, was also really friendly and knowledgeable.

Question from Anonymous
Hi, I would like to make a planter window box which is 22 inches in length. Would I have enough materials in the class to do so?
Answer from Brenda L. CourseHorse StaffCourseHorse Staff
Hi there! The instructor said it would be something that would be hard to accommodate. It is large and does take more expertise. The class is a general class for beginners with basic skills. Hope this helps!

Question from Anonymous
Hi - is there flexibility with this class on what you create? For example, if I want to sculpt a mug instead of making a coil pot, is that possible?
Answer from Sana l. Verified Student
Yes no problem at all
Answer from Brenda L. CourseHorse StaffCourseHorse Staff
Yes, you can make a mug. The school tries not to have too many different projects because it's hard to teach too many different methods at a time but that should not be an issue it's one of the projects.
