What you'll learn in this pottery wheel class:

In this class, students will learn basic skills to create lidded jars, oval planters, vases, and other intermediate forms. Beginners develop proficiency on the wheel and learn about our studio glazes.

Refund Policy

The refund policy varies by branch however in most instances a refund is only given if the Y cancels a program. Program credit may only be issued in special circumstances. We don't offer any make up classes.

In any event where a customer wants to cancel their enrollment and is eligible for a full refund, a 5% processing fee will be deducted from the refund amount.

    Janet is awesome, so helpful. The best part is not just the class, but the open studio pottery hours. You can come whenever there isn't a different class happening and throw pottery, glaze, or do whatever you need/want to do! The only extra cost is firing but I've made multiple mugs, steins, vases, and bowls and it was only about $25!

Hi Vanessa! Yes, clay is included. This is a wheel class so students will learn how to throw pots on the wheel. Students can use them for planters if they want to. Hope this is helpful.

Would I have to buy tools or other materials? Or is it included?

Hi Leela! The school does have a toolset for beginners that sell for $13.00. But they also have studio tools for everyone to use. The only additional expense is a firing fee; once you decide to keep a piece the charge is 4 cents per cubic inch to have it fired. Hope this helps!

Hi Ryann! If you are new to throwing on the potter’s wheel, it is better not to miss sessions unless you have time to come in to practice on the open studio as it requires a lot of practice to learn. Hope this helps!

Hi there! You don't have to be a member to enroll in this class and the school charge firing fees of .04 cents per cubic inch for pieces you want to keep and glaze.
