What you'll learn in this pottery wheel class:

Investigate how the activity of making pottery can be a wonderful vehicle for quieting the mind. Not unlike meditation, working with clay can also help us to be more present and focused in the moment.

In this class, we will learn and develop various skills of working on the wheel, while exploring how at whatever level this can be a useful means for cultivating the practice of mindfulness

Question from Jon M.
What supplies will I need to bring to class? Will I need to get clay?
Answer from Brenda L. CourseHorse StaffCourseHorse Staff
Hi Jon! No, students don't need to bring clay. The price includes the supplies they need, except for the firing fee. It also includes open studio so students can come in a lot of times other than their class time. They have all the clay and glazes there. Students don't need to buy tools because they have available tools in the studio. For those who want to have their own, they sell a beginner tool kit for $13. Hope this helps!

It should be noted that you must either buy tools or come to class with some. The ones they sell are reasonably priced but it would have been nice to know ahead of time that we needed them. Additionally, you should have emailed us when the instructor was changed as the person originally listed when I signed up was not the instructor when I got there and she was the main reason I selected this class. I will go back to the studio as it is a great spot but would have appreciated more info and updates on the coursehorse side.
