Description

What you'll learn in this pastry class:

Master puff pastry, choux pastry, and pastry mother sauces in no time.

This is the good stuff. The stuff you go to the bakery for. The stuff you go to Paris for. The stuff you go to culinary school for. Leave the supermarket pop cans on the shelves and master the art of French pastry with us.

Students will make puff pastry, pâte a choux, and the pastry "mother sauces" (chocolate sauce, caramel sauce, and pastry cream).

Refund Policy

When you register for a class, you agree to these terms:

  • You may request to cancel your ticket for a full refund, up to 72 hours (3 days) before the date and time of the event. 
  • Cancellations between 25-72 hours before the event may be transferred to a different date/time of the same class. 
  • Cancellation requests made within 24 hours of the class date/time may not receive a refund nor a transfer.
  • Our classes are transferrable, so feel free to send a friend if you can’t make it!
  • In any event where a customer wants to cancel their enrollment and is eligible for a full refund, a 5% processing fee will be deducted from the refund amount.

    Loved the class and Tara was great! My husband and I just started getting serious about baking and this was a perfect first step to learning pastry. I had never been to Brooklyn Kitchen before and was impressed with the space and how well run the class was. My only "complaint" is that we started running out of time at the end and it felt a little rushed. I think 2.5 hours instead of 2 hours would of been perfect.

    A concise 2 hr course with an enjoyable end result i.e. Eat what you created. Engaging and knowledgeable chef instructor, with wonderfully helpful assistants. Only critique is that the recipes are not available same day and it was promised to be mailed to us.

Does this class use eggs? Cause I can't use eggs religiously n ethically. Is there any replacement or you just don't use it?

Hi Chandni! Unfortunately, this class relies quite heavily on eggs, particularly for the pâte a choux and pastry cream. There is one recipe that is egg-free, which is the puff pastry, definitely a technique worth learning! However, I would advise you to look into another class instead, as I'm afraid you would only be able to enjoy one of the 2 final products.
