Question from Carolyn C.
Hello, Do you know if you need to have a specific type of computer system to do the homework for this class? Do you need to buy SolidWorks? Also, how much homework is there for the class?
Answer from Kristina S. Verified Student
This is a continuing education class. Most, if not all of the work was done during the 3-hour class each week. You can do some google searches and research for laptops or desktops within your price range if it's something you seriously want to do. You don't need to buy Solidworks unless you want to use it outside of the class. Otherwise, you can use the computer labs on campus.
Answer from Brenda L. CourseHorse StaffCourseHorse Staff
Students would have access to our computer lab outside of class, seven days a week to work on their weekly assignments or just to practice. So, students do not need to rush out and purchase a computer and software. Most instructors give a weekly assignment and/or a larger project for the entire semester. It’s really up to the individual to determine how much time they want to/can commit to their classwork. Generally speaking, the more practice that one can commit, the better they will be.

Do you get a certificate for this class?. Is there more than one?
Answer from Chermalyn P. CourseHorse StaffCourseHorse Staff
Hi, Erick! You can request a certificate of completion. You'll need to email the school directly and pay a $5 fee. The following details must be included in the email - full name, course taken, and semester taken.
Answer from John R. Verified Student
You do not get a certificate. Take this class to learn the program, not to collect a piece of paper.

Good introduction to the basics. I would recommend it to someone interesting in learning the program. It's not guided by a syllabus so much as it is what you make it. I would recommend having a project already in mind for your first class, and then spend the semester building on that idea.
