My career as a successful fashion designer and entrepreneur has spanned more than 30 years. In 1990 I developed my own manufacturing company "A Head Start" accessory and clothing company. I developed produced, artfully designed, unique, casual and career women's clothing with international distribution in Europe and Asia. In 2005 I sold the company to pursue my lifelong dream of becoming an established artist.

I studied Fine Art at the prestigious Cooper Union in New Yorkk and received my Bachelor Degree in Economics and Business at Empire State College. These degrees have prepared me for developing and establishing a creative art career. I was fortunate to discover the medium of decoupage under glass which I have been actively studying for the last 10 years. This form of expression has been around for thousands of years but in my work I have taken it to new contemporary levels, using bronzing, metal leaf and abstract expressionism.

Having traveled around the world in the fashion business I have been fortunate to visit many beautiful places. The beauty of the southwest has drawn me to not only a career change but to pursue a new lifestyle now live part time in New York and Arizona since 2002. The diversity and beauty of the desert and surroundings have inspired my work in this medium.

Being in business and an entrepreneur all my life recognize how important it is to not only create a beautiful but affordable product I am presently working on a one of a kind exclusive collection of pieces that will appeal to everyone's economic level.

My work can be seen at galleries in Cave Creek, Atlanta Georgia, New York City and private collectors. I hope that you love and appreciate crat as much as I do in creating it.

I took this class just to try something new and found that I really enjoyed the process and the finished piece of work. Luci is a really good teacher. In addition to helping you understand technique, she has a great way of guiding you in the right direction while still allowing you to feel like you're making creative choices about your project. I left the class with a finished plate and lots of inspiration for future projects. I hope to return and enjoy more of Luci's great company and instruction!

The teaching artist knows what she is doing and we left with finished pieces, which felt very cool. She was helpful in troubleshooting and keeping us on task. The class was in a private residence which felt weird at first but ultimately was comfy. However, the selection of clippings/prints was limited in subject matter and aesthetic, mostly medieval/art deco chalky white ladies in gowns with floral patterns behind them, including one overtly racist depiction and a folder uncomfortably titled "ethnic people." We spent an extra 5-10 min in the searching phase because we didn't like anything. So, I would recommend the course page say that upfront and that you can bring your own magazine/photo/newspaper clippings to incorporate images/objects you like. Similarly, the course page should detail what kind of plate/dish/glass object is available, so that you might also bring your own object to decoupage.

It's a wonderful class. Luci, the instructor, is a delight & she can't wait to share her knowledge.

I just had so much fun at Luc’s decoupage class. The studio was welllit, clean and spacious. Luck is a very patient and generous instructor. Reasonably priced and walked out with a finished project. Will definitely take another class at luci’s studio. Well worth it. Also met some lovely ladies to share with.

This class was so much fun and way beyond expectations! The fun was creating together in the warm atmosphere created by both the instructor Lucy who was so welcoming along with her other former students who happened to be participating at the same time. I don’t by any means consider myself an “artist”or even “artistic”and yet somehow I created a decoupage piece of art that I plan to actually hang on a wall in my home and that I am proud of. My family couldn’t believe it when I showed them the final piece! I’m hooked and will definitely be back to do this class again and again and I’m already thinking about what I will create next! Guaranteed fun for anyone who is willing to have fun with the inner artist in them!

I loved the class! It ended up just being me but that didn’t matter. Lucille was a fab teacher. She’s very patient and guides you every step of the way while letting you learn how to do it yourself. I love my finished plate and definitely want to do more in future.

Like everyone else who has reviewed this class, I now belong to the Luci fan club. She is a gem-kind and inspiring. Luci is very patient and a great guide. She is also very generous with her time. I learned a lot and very much enjoyed creating my first decoupage. It certainly won’t be my last. Thanks, Luci.
