Painting Hangout offers social art classes in Midtown, Manhattan; we provide easels, canvases, brushes, aprons, materials in general and paints as well as an expert artist to guide you through the chosen painting process for the night.

It was a very weird experience. the people at that place were very weird. there was a man, I think the owner or the one who runs the place, started to make magic tricks and talk talk talk and asking for us to see his tricks I had to tell him I am painting here! I went there to paint with my friend, not to have to be someone's audience! and the woman, the teacher, she was also very intense, staying next to me talking and talking. we were only my friend and I on that one class and others who stayed form the previous class, but I think they go there all the time... just weird experience, I prefer much more the other BYOB paint classes that I've taken in midtown. Never coming back to this one. also the place was tiny. -

It wasn't the most pleasant of an experience. Their customer service was nonexistent and if you don't come with a crew, it will be pretty low energy as they don't offer anything beyond paint (stingilly parcelled out) and the canvas. The teacher was snarky and never offered to help without being specifically asked, and the owner wasn't the best host to say the least. The assistant was really sweet though! I wouldn't go back again. -

Lesson was simple enough for me to paint a nice picture. Hopefully I have a different instructor next time. -

The instructor was very helpful even though we got there late because of nyc subway on a Saturday. The class wasn't full but I still had a great time. -

My friends and I had a great time colouring. We got to choose the design or patterns and coloured in a lovely atmosphere with classical music. This is a great idea for dating. We were so into colouring that we forgot to drink. -

The class was in an alternative space because of construction so it was tight but they seemed to be trying their hardest to make up for it. They were very attentive and offered a lot to make us feel comfortable. I would definitely go back once their regular space is ready. -
