Hong Qu builds social media tools that help us better understand ourselves and the world around us. He is Product and UX lead at Upworthy. Prior to Upworthy, he was an early employee at YouTube and designed, coded, and launched vital parts of the site such as the homepage, sharing tools, and channels. Hong has worked at Yahoo and at various startups in New York and Silicon Valley. Hong has a master's degree from UC Berkeley's School of Information with a focus on social media data mining, and a bachelor's degree from Wesleyan University.
