The Sacred Heart of Herbalism (Herbal Kit Included)

This 10-month training will work with herbalism in the way it was originally taught; infused with the Spirits of the Plants.  Native Peoples believe that to truly possess the healing powers of a plant one must be introduced to the Spirit of that Plant and be honored with its healing gifts.

The course is 50 hours of in-class training.

This series will weave together:

• the healing properties of over 100 medicinal plants
• the history of herbalism
• working safely and effectively with plants to heal ourselves and others
• herbal remedy making, techniques and formulation
• the properties of herbs and discussion of cardiotonics, alteratives, demulcents, adaptogens, and more!
• winter wellness
• making an herbal first aid kit
• local plant identification
• basic botany terminology
• writing monographs and learning how to research plants
• building your Materia medica
• discussion of contraindications throughout
• making an herbarium
• plant energetics
• making and working with flower essences
• herbal gardening and design
• creating Medicine Wheel Gardens
• introduction to the therapeutic and safe usage of essential oils
• the sacred plants of power and how to work with them
• introduction to the Native American Medicine Wheel
• the shamanic journey and Sacred Dreaming
• discovering personal plant allies
• sustainable herbalism
• includes a private online group for interaction in-between sessions

At the end of the course, you will know how to work with herbs medicinally, be able to make your own herbal remedies in the form of infusions, decoctions, tea blends, oils, salves, vinegars, oxymels, flower essences, tinctures, and syrups. You will feel confident to create remedies for yourself and your family, garden with herbs, know how to harvest and dry herbs properly, identify locally growing herbs, and will have discovered at least one of your plant allies. You will have a good solid foundation in herbalism should you like to continue with your studies.
