Our comprehensive two-day course teaches students the core principles of Cinema 4D and demonstrates how intuitive and creative it can be to generate realistic 3D imagery and three-dimensional objects. While Cinema 4D is a capable and complex program, learning the fundamentals provides a solid foundation for developing actual 3D geometry and deploying it in professional contexts. Students participate in detailed in-class demonstrations, supervised practical activities, and creative exploration sessions that build both technical proficiency and artistic confidence for transforming imaginative concepts into rendered 3D scenes.
Who this class is for:
This course targets VFX artists and video editors who want a foundational introduction to 3D object creation and modeling for incorporation into their video work.
Prerequisites:
Students should have a basic understanding of video editing and visual effects; some experience with Adobe After Effects is particularly helpful.
By the end of this class, students will:
- Understand the fundamentals of navigating Cinema 4D and manipulating primitive objects
- Work with splines and generators to create complex geometry
- Model and deform objects based on reference images
- Apply textures and lights to create realistic models
- Animate 3D scenes with keyframes and cameras
- Configure 3D workflow from preferences to render settings
