Class Description

Description

Discover how elevated temperature patterns influence grape development and wine character across the world's most renowned wine regions.

In this warm-climate wine course, we investigate global patterns by traveling through the world's warmest wine regions through guided tastings and discussion. You'll explore how climate shapes ripe wines and understand the distinctive characteristics of some of the world's most celebrated warm-weather wine-producing areas: Southern France, Southern Italy, Southern Spain, Portugal, Greece, Washington State, South America, Australia, and South Africa.

Our structured tasting includes 6 to 8 classic regional wines, with emphasis on New World versus Old World styles. You'll experience traditional examples of Grenache, Syrah, Malbec, Cabernet, and Zinfandel, gaining insight into how temperature and terroir combine to create the wines' unique flavor profiles and characteristics.
