Teaches at Work-Life Spanish

As a long-time student of Spanish, Tara did not grow up speaking the language at home. Her Spanish-language abilities have come instead from years of classroom study and practical use through living and working in Spain and Chile and traveling throughout Latin America. Because of these experiences, she understands how a foreign language may not come easily to those who try to learn it outside of a bilingual, bi-cultural environment. At the same time, she also knows that with time and effort, you can speak and write in a new language – and it can do wonders for you both professionally and personally.

She has taught Spanish at every level to a wide variety of students in Denver, Boston, Washington, D.C and Santiago, Chile. At the moment, She is especially interested in the use of new technologies in the classroom, and also in the practice of teaching to both sides of the brain as a motivating factor in the learning process. She holds a Master's degree in Spanish Language and Culture from the Universidad de Salamanca (Salamanca, Spain), a Massachusetts State teaching license, a CELTA certificate from the University of Cambridge and a Bachelor's degree in International Affairs from the University of Colorado.
