Join us to celebrate spring by creating glass beads in the colors of our favorite New York teams. Try creating a basketball bead in New York Liberty Seafoam or a baseball in New York Yankee blue and white! Designed for beginners and advanced beginners, this hands-on course reviews essential flamework techniques and an introduction to finishing. Finished items include key fobs, jewelry (earrings or pendants), and houseware like cocktail/mocktail stirrers. All supplies will be provided. As always, this unique medium's science, history, technology, and culture are interwoven.
What to Expect: Beadmaking requires a little practice at heat control with the torch to create successful beads. After demonstrations, expect to make between 2 - 6 successful objects in this class, and a couple failures, while gaining confidence and skill in the studio.
Eligibility: No previous experience required. Open to ages 12 and up.
Pick-up: The glass needs to cool down overnight then be carefully removed from the mandrels, so the students will have to return to UrbanGlass once notified to pick up their work.
This is an in-person class taking place on-site at UrbanGlass. Health and safety guidelines will be emailed to you upon registration.
