MAKE IT! Studio is a hands-on sewing and craft studio with a maximum of 9 students at a time. Due to our small class size and high demand during Summer Camp we added an amazing 2nd location in Park Slope. The space is in the exhibition space at the Japanese cultural institution, J-COLLABO on 7th st.
We chose this location because it is a huge space, where we can break the class up into 2 age groups and now offer MAKE IT to 5 and 6 year olds! We also love that it is just a few blocks from JJ Byrne Playground, for some outdoor play time to break the day up with. Camp will be held daily from 9 am to 3:30 p.m. with a late pick up option to 5pm
Our camp schedule is based on week-long themes all summer. This week’s theme, Sleep Over Party, is a camper requested theme and brand new for us! Depending on the child’s age and skill level, they will make some or all of the following… a sleep over bag, animal pillow case, blanket, stuffie, and pajama shorts.
Our teaching method is to encourage individual thinking and creativity by letting our students have the freedom to create what they imagine. By offering principles and design guidance to guide this creativity the children will be in a formal yet playful environment that will both teach and entertain.
For our repeating students we make sure they continue to be challenged and that they have new projects to entertain them. We also make sure not to repeat projects throughout the summer, this way your child is welcome to sign up for multiple weeks.
Hand sewing experience necessary.
In the event a student must cancel a class registration, CourseHorse must be notified in writing via email at [email protected] for the student to be eligible for a refund of class fees.
Refunds are made in the form of the original payment.
Paid classes are redeemable only for the scheduled session(s) of the class for which you are registered and are not transferable.
Students who fail to show up for a class forfeit any right to a refund or exchange. There are no make-ups for missed classes. This policy is to ensure that the instructors are compensated for their time and other students waiting for spots in full classes are not missing class opportunities due to late cancellations or no shows.
In any event where a customer wants to cancel their enrollment and is eligible for a full refund, a 5% processing fee will be deducted from the refund amount.
