This intensive two-day training program is specifically designed to fulfill federal EPA lead-worker requirements for renovation, repair, and painting projects. Please note that while this course addresses EPA training mandates, it may not fully satisfy all OSHA worker training obligations for construction work in other building types and facilities. An optional third day may be added if additional OSHA requirements apply to your specific project scope.
Throughout the two-day course, participants engage in both classroom instruction and hands-on practical activities. The curriculum addresses lead contamination sources and background, applicable federal and state regulations, recognized hazards and effective control strategies, health implications of lead exposure, workplace safety protocols, medical surveillance requirements, respiratory protection and personal protective equipment, specialized clothing needs, and comprehensive work practices. Topics covered include work area preparation techniques, indoor and outdoor paint abatement procedures, dust and soil remediation, cleanup and waste disposal protocols, and mandatory record-keeping standards.
The primary objective of this training is to equip participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to identify and safely abate lead-based paint hazards in residential and commercial environments.
