San Francisco is a city which continually reinvents itself, meaning there’s always something exciting to do. This, along with some world-famous sights, such as Alcatraz and the Golden Gate Bridge, makes San Francisco a popular destination for tourists. One of the USA’s most cosmopolitan cities, visitors will find it a welcoming and hospitable place, with friendly locals who will be keen to help you practice your English. St Giles San Francisco is surrounded by some great shops, cafés and restaurants, not far from Chinatown and the popular Union Square.
It is a medium-sized school with 37 classrooms, based across four floors of a restored historic building. With its great mix of nationalities, the school mirrors the international quality of the city and offers state-of-the-art facilities and resources to around 300 students aged 16 and over. If you choose to study in this city, you will join students from all over the world – in 2016, students from more than 45 countries studied with us in San Francisco.
Learning English in an English-speaking city will help you to quickly enhance your language skills, because you will be practicing both in and out of the classroom. We offer a wide range of courses to suit your needs and your schedule, so no matter what you’re looking for in San Francisco, we are sure you’ll find it.
Not only do we offer English courses, but we also offer Teacher Training courses to native and non-native speakers. Teaching English as a second language can be a hugely rewarding career choice as trainees not only learn new skills themselves, but also witness their students learning new skills. St Giles San Francisco offers the universally recognized Cambridge CELTA, an initial TEFL qualification designed for individuals with little or no prior experience of teaching English. This qualification will not only give you the confidence to teach in front of a class of people, but will also allow you to take advantage of wide-ranging opportunities to live and work anywhere around the world. The intensive course lasts for four weeks and combines theory and practice.
The Cambridge CELTA is also available as an online/blended learning course. This option is ideal for trainees with full-time jobs which don’t allow time for intensive study. Lasting for 17 weeks, this course is a combination of collaborative online study and face-to-face teaching practice, giving trainees the opportunity to work flexibly and fit the course around their busy schedules.
