Nick Gershberg is the coordinator of the Arthur Ross Greenhouse at Barnard College. A former intern at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden, he is trained in plant propagation, bonsai technique and specializes in container horticulture.

Great and knowledgeable instructor who was thorough with answering any and all questions. There was a lot of pertinent information pertaining to the course subject that will be very useful. There was so much information on the slides it would have been nice for him to offer emailing it to the students too. The building was under construction and was apparently not properly ventilated because about halfway through the course choking paint and chemical fumes filled the floor and room we were on. We tried opening windows and shutting doors to prevent the odors from filling the air, but then the sounds from the traffic and street below were loud and distracting. Certainly not the instructors fault, but NYBG could have been more conscious about how their construction was affecting their courses.

Lots of great information. I think the class would have been even better if it was just a little bit longer. Would have liked to ask more questions, and would have liked some hands-on something.

Very good class, hands on and entertaining. Somehow the description was a bit misleading, made me believe I would come back with a container already planted. But I got my plant as a gift at least!
