Introduction to Herbalism: Part 1
Very interesting class. The presenter, who is the business owner, is friendly and informative, patient and helpful. She provided notes after the class for those who want to remember the details of the discussion, which was extensive. I look forward to taking the next class. Very good value, too. Highly recommended and we were sent home with an herbal medicine made in class. -
Griffins, Goblets, and Gold: A Magical Arts Adventure in the Metropolitan Museum of Art
I cannot say enough wonderful things about Evie and the incredible, fun, informative experience we had at the Met. We took our child (then ~10 years old) to the Met on our last trip to NYC, and we learned from that experience that taking our child through a museum unguided was asking for lots of complaining and misery. The experience was radically different this time with Evie. She was so engaging in the way she connected the art to stories that kids know (mostly Harry Potter, but other fantasy series as well and peppering in interactive activities throughout the tour. All of us (adults and kids) learned a great deal about fantasy and myth as well as general recommendations for books, movies, TV, and NYC places to visit. We would absolutely book another tour with Fable & Lark again! Highly, highly recommend. -
Alexander Technique
They’ve been very accommodating and helpful -
Prospect Park (Teens/Adults)
We had a really lovely foraging walk. Steve is very knowledgeable about the local flora, approachable, and has a full stack of amazingly corny jokes. Highly recommended. -
Introduction to Herbalism: Part 2
Herbs are aways wonderful to learn about! The class was pure pleasure, thank you! -
Moss Art Workshop
The instructor was kind and the setting was quite peaceful. Instructions were fairly straight forward and alot of time was spent organizing various types of moss and dried flowers into an arrangment. The real fun began when I had to pull apart my arranagment and glue all the pieces into the frame. Many adjustments were made and there are examples also provided. -
Introduction to Herbalism: Part 1
This was a very practical and informative class with an experienced, personable, and laid-back instructor. The Herbal Remedies Shop in Carroll Gardens is one-of-a-kind, with a lot of a terrific offerings. Students get 10% off what's in the store, in addition to the free herbal tincture that they take home after the session. The only slight drawback for me was the narrow, crammed space where we were seated, but all-in-all it was a great value and well worth the $40. -
Prospect Park (Teens/Adults)
Wildman Steve is an entertaining and knowledgeable guide - highly recommend going on a foraging adventure with him! -

Private 1-on-1 Makeup Mini Lessons
My one-on-one makeup lesson with Lorin Cole was wonderful. She and I talked in advance about what I hoped to learn, and she created a session that met my goals perfectly. I left knowing how to update my look and what I needed in terms of a few different products to achieve that look. We reviewed my current makeup, she created a detailed list of what I use where, and gave me directions in writing with colors and techniques to reinforced what she taught me in person. I have been able to do everything she taught me on my own. Lorin is a real professional. She is as a former model, a working makeup artist, and a fine artist, all of which she puts into her customized guidance. This course was truly everything I wanted, and more. -
Central Park (Teens/Adults)
It’s a fun experience for all ages to sit back and listen to a passionate individual like Steve talking about the very same plants we find ourselves walking passed in our life’s. Time flew as you learned the use cases and the right plants to snack on or incorporate in your meals. It was a lot of useful information to process and definitely has me looking at the environment differently. Lovely soul and entertaining to say the least. Really helps with cementing the information you receive. I look forward to attend more classes as I develop this new skill. -

Prospect Park (Teens/Adults)
Delightful experience and guide, will do again. Main advice - bring hand warmers in the winter. -
Prospect Park (Kids 12 & Under)
Excellent course! Only issue was actually finding the in-person foraging class, which was meeting in a crowded public area without sufficiently specific location details and no instructor contact details on the Coursehorse website or emailed course registration confirmation. Luckily the instructor's name was mentioned on the Coursehorse website, and I was able to do and online search, find his contact info and reach him by phone to locate the class so my daughter and I could get there before they departed into the woods for the class. Coursehorse should provide better class meeting location details and instructor contact information on their website and emailed course registration confirmations. -
Prospect Park (Teens/Adults)
This class was amazing– exactly the kind of expert and community treasure we should be featuring on this platform. Steve is awesome. I had an amazing time, it was exactly what I was looking for and showed me new dimensions of my neighborhood and connect with my neighbors. -

Self-Makeup Workshop
The educational quality of the class was outstanding. Marina ensured that I learned everything I needed to know about the makeup that suits me best for me, my sling, shape and how to apply it with ease and precision. Her focus on teaching effective techniques was incredibly helpful, now I know that I can use all my products, without thinking that i don’t have highly expensive products. Now I know I can do good makeup on myself that I need all the time. I highly recommend this class to anyone seeking professional makeup education. -
Fall Prevention & Recovery
What a great class! Great instructor who taught you balance, posture, sitting/standing techniques as well as fall prevention. Signed up for every week as soon as I left the session. -
Self-Makeup Workshop
I recently attended a self-makeup class with Face Style Studio, and I couldn't be happier with the experience. Marina, our instructor, is exceptionally knowledgeable and skilled. She is the perfect person to share makeup techniques and tips. Throughout the class, I learned exactly what I needed. Marina tailored the session to focus on the makeup that suits me best and taught me how to apply it easily and effectively. The emphasis on technique was particularly valuable, making the whole experience incredibly beneficial. I highly recommend this class to anyone looking to improve their makeup skills! -
Self-Makeup Workshop
I took a 90-minute class with Face Style Studio because I wanted to learn how to correctly do makeup for every occasion. Marina was incredibly helpful and even extended the class time to ensure she showed me everything. Her attention to detail and the class's structured approach were impressive. Marina began by demonstrating the application techniques, sharing tips and tricks that only a makeup artist would know. Then, I practiced applying the makeup on myself. It was surprisingly easy and turned out amazingly well! I love what I learned and the way I learned it, thanks to Marina's exceptional teaching methods. I recommend from heart a class with Face Style Studio! -

Wildman Steve is a quite the character, but a devoted and invaluable resource for learning about the world around us! Highly recommend this insightful and surprisingly affordable experience. -
Forest Park (Teens/Adults)
Despite that day's rainy conditions, I really enjoyed this urban foraging adventure. Wildman Steve's wealth of knowledge & experience, casual teaching style, and humor kept me engaged the entire time. I was amazed to learn about just how many edible plants and mushrooms were growing all around us in this city park. My only regret was forgetting to bring a collection bag to take some samples home! -

Such a great class and way to spend a Sunday! I learned so much about all aspects of bonsai, and the instructor Julian Velasco clearly is a Master and passionate about his art. Plus I got to take home a miniature work of art/new friend that I will enjoy for years to come! Highly recommended! -
Prospect Park (Teens/Adults)
Steve and Violet were immensely knowledgeable and I recommend this walk to anyone curious about connecting with the plants in their path. As an amateur forager, I left with several new plant allies to name and work with as food and medicine. Disclaimer: brace yourself for some seriously corny jokes :-) -
Take a Stand for Posture Workshop
The class was great! Aesha was so knowledgeable and friendly. I am very happy that I attended! -
Bonsai
This class was really sweet and informative. Julian comes across as genuinely interested and enthusiastic about bonsai and plant care in general. All the necessary materials were provided, as well as long term care guidance and hands on assistance with shaping the tree. Everyone left with something they could feel good about. Attendees in my Sunday morning class ranged from elementary school aged children to retirees, total plant novices to green thumbed black belts. -
Landscape Design Tips: Learning from Before and After
I loved this class! There is nothing like seeing before and after photos of a landscape- it brings a concept or idea to life. I bought Jan's book, "Gardentopia" after the class and quickly read it, cover to cover. It touches upon everything we learned in the class and more. I highly recommend this book to anyone interested in landscape design. The class was 2 hours, which flew by far too quickly. I wanted to stay for another 2, or more! Jan is a veteran in her field and is very generous with her expertise. I left feeling encouraged and inspired. I hope to take more classes from Jan. -
